In order to make the people of Pakistan and China aware of each other’s literature, a long-term publishing project has been agreed upon between Pakistan Academy of Letters and The National Administration of Press and Publication of China. Under this agreement, the Academy will publish Urdu translations of one hundred Chinese books and China will publish Chinese translations of one hundred Pakistani books. In the first phase, ten books have been selected by both countries. Chinese translations of five Pakistani books and Urdu translations of three Chinese books have been published so far. Work on the rest is in progress.
