International Coordination

Pakistan Academy of Letters is mandated under the law to liaise and interact with counterparts in other countries on mutually agreed terms. For the purpose, the Academy signs MOUs after fulfilling legal/administrative formalities. These MOUs cover areas like exchange visits, reciprocal translations/publications, book exhibitions, and seminars/ conferences etc. The Academy is presently engaging with counterpart organizations including The National Administration of Press and Publication (China), Union of Bulgarian Writers Association (Bulgaria), National Academy of Sciences (Belarus), Nepal Academy (Nepal), Oman Association of Writers and Literature (Oman), Vietnam Writers Association (Vietnam), Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature (Azerbaijan), and Istanbul University of Eastern Languages & Literature (Turkiye). Pakistan is also a member of the China South Asia Literature Forum and is represented by the Pakistan Academy of Letters. Similarly, the Academy also represents Pakistan for UNESCO’s World Atlas of Languages.
