About two dozen Pakistani languages are currently facing the threat of extinction. Saving these languages from extinction is among the priorities of the Academy. Recently the Academy has taken up a new initiative to publish books on endangered Pakistani languages. In the first phase, work was assigned on three Pakistani languages, out of which two books are currently in the printing stage. Moreover, documentaries on two endangered languages Yidgha and Ghorbati were also launched by the Academy in July, 2024, in Chitral.
