Pakistan and Azerbaijan enjoy longstanding strategic relations that extend to literature and culture. In this regard, a Pakistan Literature Center has been established under the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS). To further institutionalize this cooperation, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) and ANAS was signed on 11 July 2024. Reflecting the shared literary heritage, PAL has recently published Khamsa Ansari by Dr. Aslam Ansari, inspired by Nizami Ganjavi’s celebrated Khamsa. Earlier, PAL published the Urdu translation of the Azerbaijani epic Book of Dede Korkut (2022) and featured translations of prominent Azerbaijani writers, including Malapna Jeef and Naseemi Amaduddin, in its journal Adbiyaat.
